Financial Officer, Accounting
Position Purpose
Performs various administrative, financial and accounting tasks for the Faculty. Handles tasks related to the accounting treatment of the Faculty’s expenses. Serves as a resource person for accounting procedures.
Essential Qualifications
Excellent knowledge of accounting, administration, secretarial duties and office techniques normally acquired through postsecondary education in accounting or finance
Minimum two years’ experience in financial resource control procedures, budget analysis and account reconciliation
Knowledge and experience interpreting, explaining and applying university policies and procedures
Experience in a computerized work environment and a working knowledge of various software applications such as spreadsheets, word processors and email
Knowledge of the University’s financial systems (FAST and Banner) considered an asset
Ability to work independently and to organize work
Sound judgement and attention to detail
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Bilingualism — French and English (spoken and written)
